I moved since the last post and things have been a bit chaotic for me. I think I've finally settled into a routine and can actually do something like this now. Although, I wont likely post EVERY single day. I do have a life. Sometimes.

30 Day Photo Challenge

Lansdowne Resort -- Leesburg, VA
We just checked into our resort in Leesburg Virginia last night. It is called Lansdowne Resort, you can check out their website here.
I am so happy to be here. I'm a bit of a control freak, so I pretty much drove the whole 16 hours solo. But there's something about being one with the road. The kids went straight to movie night with popcorn and pizza. AWESOME! I got to relax for a couple of hours after a long day on the road. There was a live band playing and the place was buzzing with people.
The only thing that disappointed me right off was that valet is another $25 per day that you are here. The parking lot is pretty expansive. This would probably be worth it if you plan on coming and going a lot. We don't. As a matter of fact I don't plan on driving out of here until Monday morning when we check out. We did receive a very warm and friendly welcome from the staff. We are here for one of their special packages, The Funtastic Family Summer.

Looks like a funtastic weekend up ahead!! I think I've got all I need. We have our Sounds of Summer wristbands that access us to the Steel Drum concert tonight at our Pig Pickin BBQ, followed by a late night swim. Right now, we are about to head out for some games by the pool followed by family BINGO. I will give a full report as soon as we are done adventuring.

Well folks! Here it is... the BIG announcement.
I TURN 30 IN A LITTLE MORE THAN A MONTH!
Yeah, I know. No kidding, right?
I keep seeing the disappointed looks on my parents faces when I make another seemingly "bad" decision. Here's the deal though. I've made a LOT of GOOD decisions. For me anyway. I would not choose, not even for ONE second to see myself in a different place in my life than I am right now. My life is an adventure.
I am a VERY passionate person. It's either love or loathe, there's not much of an in between. If it's not to die for, it's not for me. I'm not a "luke warm" type of person. I like to dive into something with extreme intensity. This is what keeps me going. Embarking on each new day as a new adventure. WINNING and LOSING and getting back up and WINNING again.
Who cares about the money... who cares about the cars... who cares about the big fancy house??
It's ALL about the JOURNEY.
The experiences.
The memories.
The friends.
Overcoming obstacles and differences.
IT AINT ABOUT THE STUFF!!! (in my deep southern voice)
The only people I want reading my blog are true followers. People I meet along the way... long time friends... and those that find me and are drawn to my style. It's not a popularity contest, by any means. Don't try and figure me out, I'm like a rubix cube with all the stickers removed.
I am going to be traveling a lot, as this is my new *gig*. I've always wanted to be a travel writer, now the dream has consumed me and here I am. This is my starting point. Can we say... GO!
